The story of the film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Movie is made by Bani (Ranbir Kapoor) and Naina (Deepika Padukone) with her two friends Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Aditi (Kalki Cochleen). Naina and Bani used to study in school together but both are very different from each other. Where Naina used to be immersed in studies, Bunny used to race with her life all the time, trying to fulfill her dreams. Bani wants to roam the whole world, does not like to stay and hates marriage. After school, Naina and Bunny meet during a Manali trip. Naina, bored with her boring life, runs away from her house and comes on this trip and becomes with her friends. The two meet at the station and become good friends of each other, having fun on the entire Manali Trip. Naina falls in love with Bunny during the trip and she goes to express it to Bunny that she learns that Bunny is going to Chicago for the course of her journalism. Naina realizes that Bunny loves her dreams and does not want to live a normal life by marrying. After Bani's departure, Naina after a few years goes to the wedding of Bani's friend Aditi who also becomes Naina's friend. There Naina meets Bani once again. Naina tries to stay away from Bani but Bani is unable to stay away from Naina this time. He too falls in love with Naina. Where do these strange turns in Na and Bani's life take them, and is Bani ready to live a normal life by marrying Naina, leaving her dreamy life?
